How to measure Roller Shades

Inside Mount Measurement
Width Measurement: Take the interior width measurement at the uppermost point of the window frame opening.
Height Measurement: Measure the interior height from the top of the window recess to the top of the sill at three different locations. Use the largest of these three measurements.
Important Sizing Note: For optimal fit, select a shade width that is a minimum of 1/2 inch narrower than your actual window opening. Round down as necessary to achieve the correct dimension.
Light Gap Consideration: This mounting method will result in a small light gap along the edges. Because the shade must be fabricated slightly smaller than the window opening for proper operation, this will impact the room's darkness level—particularly relevant if you have selected blackout lining for maximum light control.

Outside Mount Measurement
Determine the total width you wish to cover. For enhanced privacy and light blockage, we recommend allowing an overlap of 2 to 4 inches beyond each side of the window opening.
For height, first identify where you plan to position the roller mechanism. Then measure from that mounting point down to either the window sill or your desired bottom position of the shade.
